Built to outlast
the warranty
Every HiTeck instrument carries a warranty period matched to how long that instrument actually lasts in practice. Not one number for everything.
At a glance
Limited lifetime warranty
HiTeck warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, and to conform to our published specifications. If one fails, we repair or replace it at our expense — or refund what you paid. “Lifetime” means the actual working life of an instrument, and that varies enormously.
Clock starts at delivery
Warranty periods run from initial delivery, not from first use.
A repair doesn’t restart it
A repair or replacement does not restart the clock — the original period continues.
Third-party instruments
They carry that manufacturer’s warranty, passed through to you. Used and refurbished products are sold as-is.
What’s covered
Defects in workmanship and materials are on us. Wear, mistreatment and the wrong chemistry are not. The exact lists are below; the table that decides a claim follows.
Covered
Repaired, replaced or refunded at our expense, including shipping back to you.
- Defects in workmanship and materials
- Failure to conform to HiTeck’s published specifications
- Services not performed in a workmanlike manner
Not covered
Wear is the working life ending, not a defect. Full exclusions are in the terms below.
- Wear and tear, damage, mistreatment
- Blade worn 30%+ (that’s sharpening)
- Negligent use, storage or handling
- Excessive heat, pressure, chemicals
- Phenols or incompatible chemistry
- Modified or serviced outside HiTeck
- Unauthorised third-party combinations
- Complimentary, used or refurbished
Instrument killers
Chlorides. Saline, bleach and some disinfectant wipes cause pitting corrosion in stainless steel. Once a pit forms, nothing brings it back.
The wrong chemistry on handles. Keep resin and silicone handles away from phenols and any solution our Instructions for Use rule out. Care instructions ship with every product and are available from us any time.

If your instrument isn’t obviously in one of these groups, send us the catalogue number and we’ll confirm the period before you ship anything.
Your rights and our limits
Written to be read. Applies to products sold in the United States and Canada, purchased on or after 1 January 2025. Replaces all earlier HiTeck warranties.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is in addition to, and does not replace, the rights you have under law. In Canada, provincial and territorial consumer protection and sale-of-goods legislation give buyers implied conditions and warranties — including that goods are of merchantable quality and fit for their purpose — and in a consumer transaction those rights cannot be signed away. In the United States, this warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
Implied warranties
Where the law allows it, any implied warranty applying to a HiTeck product — including any implied warranty of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose — is limited in duration to the applicable warranty period shown above. Some provinces, territories and states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so that limitation may not apply to you. No employee or agent of HiTeck is authorised to make any warranty in addition to those stated here.
Limitation of remedy
Repair, replacement or refund of the purchase price, at HiTeck’s option, is your exclusive remedy and HiTeck’s sole obligation for breach of warranty. HiTeck is not liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages arising from breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory, and in no event will HiTeck’s liability exceed the price of the product giving rise to the claim. Some provinces, territories and states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so that exclusion may not apply to you.
Exclusions in full
This warranty does not cover any defect or deficiency resulting from: use, storage, handling, installation or maintenance of a product by the user, its employees, agents or contractors which is negligent, inconsistent with normal use, or fails to comply with any instructions provided by HiTeck; damage not caused by HiTeck; absence of any product, component or accessory recommended by HiTeck but omitted or removed by the user; combining products with any third-party product without HiTeck’s authorisation; or service, maintenance or repair performed by anyone other than HiTeck or its authorised providers. HiTeck also disclaims liability for damage arising from the use of commercial or residential grade washers; the use of dental automated washer-disinfectors where the manufacturer’s processing guidelines are not followed; the use of cleaning solutions, chemicals or procedures contrary to HiTeck’s recommendations; and improper set-up or installation of any product.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to products sold in the United States and Canada by HiTeck Medical Instruments or any of its authorised distributors, purchased on or after 1 January 2025. It replaces and supersedes all other HiTeck warranties, except for a written warranty that accompanies a product and is specific to it, or a warranty agreed in a written agreement signed by both parties. Where those conflict, the order of priority is the accompanying warranty, then the signed agreement, then this policy. This policy does not apply to private label products sold to resellers.
Intended use and safety
HiTeck instruments are supplied non-sterile and are intended for use by, or on the direction of, a qualified clinician, for the purpose for which each instrument is designed. Selection of the appropriate instrument and the proper technique for its use remain the responsibility of the treating clinician. All HiTeck products must be cleaned and sterilized according to the guidelines published at hiteckmedical.com/pages/ifu. Instruments used on, or suspected of having been used on, a patient with Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease must be destroyed and cannot be reprocessed, returned or replaced under this warranty.
Not happy? Send it back.
Separate from the warranty, every HiTeck instrument carries a 30-day guarantee. Any reason — exchange or full refund.
If it doesn’t meet your expectations — not only if it’s defective — return it to us or your dealer with a copy of your invoice for an exchange or a full refund. After 30 days from the invoice date the warranty takes over. Either way, the invoice has to come back with the instrument.
